The Ambassador

 

- Born in Rome on 16th August 1961, he graduated in political science at the University of Rome in 1985.
- He joined the Italian Diplomatic Service in March 1986, and was assigned to the Directorate General for Emigration and Social Affairs.
- He was posted in Rio de Janeiro as Deputy Consul in 1989, and was confirmed First Secretary in 1991.
- In 1993 he was posted in L’Avana (Cuba) as First Secretary, where he was later confirmed, in 1996, as Counsellor.
- He returned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Rome in 1997 and was assigned to the Directorate General for Emigration and Social Affairs, where he served until 2000. In that year, he served as Head of the Secretariat of the Directorate General for North, Central and South America.
- The next year he was posted in Athens as Commercial Counsellor.
- In 2002 he returned to Rome at the Directorate General for Development Cooperation where he headed, from 2003 to date, the office responsible for Multilateral cooperation.
- He was promoted First Counsellor in 2005 and Minister in 2014.
- He server in the Army as “sottotenente di complemento” in 1987, and received the decoration as “Cavalier Official” of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Italy in 2007.
